3 Wise Monkeys
This page is found at http://www.awomanscomfort.com/
The three wise monkeys traditionally "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, but for the Comfortable Woman they have a totally different meaning.
How many times has something happened - and for hours, or even years, we replayed the whole thing over, and over, and over in our minds.

Comfort Self
The Three Monkeys are physical and visual reminders that in our Comfort Place at our Comfort Time we limit the negative messages we give ourselves that lower self-esteem. Reminders that we are learning to live in the present. Reminders to learn, once again, to see the wonders that do exit in our lives.
Comfort Place
The wise monkey covering her eyes knows that not worrying means freedom to Relax. She personally does not have to assume full responsibility for running the world. She knows that there is a time to pick up responsibility - and a time to put it down too. Her ears refuse to hear the voices trying to tell her that she must be all things to all people. She knows how to Relax.
Comfort Thoughts
The wise monkey covering her ears knows that freedom from bad memories means she can focus on those Precious Moments that are so easily pushed aside and almost forgotten. The moments in our lives of love and kindness are the ones to be brought out and treasured. It is habit that allows them to get pushed aside and replaced by memories of cutting words or thoughtless actions especially. She knows the value of Precious Moments.
Comfort Time
The wise monkey covering her mouth knows that freedom guilt means she can feel, once again, Wonder and Joy. It's an odd thing, but this wise old one knows that blaming anyone - or anything means that someone is guilty. Well she knows who that usually is in the end. By accepting, with humility, life as it comes she is able to find a life of Wonder and Joy
Visual Reminders
Most of us are visual. That means that most of our experiences are connected to what we see or images we remember. Keeping visual reminders where you will see them often have been found one of the best ways to remember to practice new habits we are trying to learn. The Comfort Vacation also gives a time structure short enough that it is easy to succeed. Just like runners start with short distances and then build on their successes, it's a good idea to work on new changes just for short periods of time rather than a whole day.
